Urban Exploration - The Abandoned Swimming Pool
We received photos from a traveler and compiled them into a historical summary.
Here is a visit to a swimming pool that hasn't been used since 2015. It shouldn’t be characterized as "abandoned," because it isn't; it remains the property of the town hall. However, in the course of 2015, this relatively small pool was replaced by a brand-new facility.
You should have seen the look on my face—it was worth its weight in gold. I tried this place three times, and on every trip, it turned out to be locked tight.
Béné kept telling me: "But I'm telling you, the front doors are shaky; I'm convinced that's the way in." "No way!!" I would argue with professionalism—almost with aplomb—"You have to climb, you have to squeeze through, or maybe a day will come when they forget to close a window." Time passed, a year or so.
Then, during a trip to something else, just passing through, here we were on-site again. I tugged on the door, still flawlessly defending my argument: "It won't opeeee—click..." The door swung wide open in my hand, without the slightest effort.
You should have seen my face! I remain convinced that the only person in the world more idiotic than me is Carine Bécard; that gives you an idea of the abyssal depth of it.
Since the building is under video surveillance, we visited very quickly. Four minutes, all in all. All those trampled requests for authorization, and yet we wouldn't have been in the way for long—it just goes to show... In the end, it was a neat little preservation of memory that was captured, while waiting for a new purpose for this place. By a thousand Mimolettes, it was well worth it!
